I'm with LMB on this one these cars are well specced. Spec a new s and you'll get no where this spec for 22k. Thats what made me buy one over the new s Plus alot of dealers bought these cars at start hoping to sell them at a profit even so 23 throughout the country thats a tiny amount when you compare to say how many coopers/MCS or even JCW the dealers have got.

Just been arround a few dealerships this weekend and learned some interesting points

1) Some dealerships have reduced their GP prices by upto 2K, in the last few weeks, GP's are now selling for arround 20K even ones with 800 miles on the clock.

2) Most of the GP's we view had some sort of modifications, tinted front windows, internal crome packs, modified air intakes and supercharger internal gauges.

3) BMW have now stated that 4 spot lights on the front of your mini null and voids your warranty as they claim it blocks your bonnet air intakes. However two seem to be fine.

4) GP's have been moved from dealership to dealership to try and sell them. So maybe a dealership near you!!

5) The price on the car outside was not the same as on their computer, usually £600 cheaper when pushed.

6) One of the cars had been on the forecourt since Nov last year.

6) Of the four GP's we viewed all have now sold.

Please bear in mind this is what I found or was told.

What do you mean by modified air intakes?

I've also never heard of supercharger internal gauges.

The car in question had a small white gauge underneath the centre console switches and postioned to the drivers side. This either read boost or supercharger, i'm sure supercharger and was in a clock layout with a single hand idle at the 7oclock postion and numbered arround to 5 o clock.

This then lead me to left up the bonnet. Underneath was a very large red pipe (4 to 5 inch dia) to the right hand side of the engine (as you looked at the car). This then lead to a very large cone shapped air filter which wasn't covered.

When the dealer started the car and rev hard it sounded like the car was sucking air.

Sorry didn't get the roof number. Car had done 5700 miles.

Hope this is of help

I don't think the number of GPs for sale will be a long term problem, the market currently has all of MINI UKs ex Demo fleet & the Dealers that registered one as a Demo themselves will be selling them on around now. Any that are listed as VAT qualifying weren't sold to private individuals.
Things will settle down -meantime just enjoy them :-)
