23 MINI GPs for sale!! Hi everyone, Just been on the mini cherished website and found a total of 23 GPs for sale in the UK! Prices ranging from £21,500 to £22,500 which is quite good news but still!! Anyone else think this is a rather high number to be for sale already?? Do you think this is a good or bad thing? Steady GP 919

I think many people bought a GP thinking it would be a quick way to make a few quid....many of the cars on there have done under a thousand miles! I bought my GP with the intention of keeping it for at least 3 years! with such low depreciation it was a no-brainer for me!

My Mini Dealer (Williams Manchester) didn't touch them at all as they knew that the market would be swamped by them... they have also said they do not intend to ever take one in...! 23 for sale cars which are supposed to be "limited edition" and hard to get hold of - that IS a lot!

20+ out of 444 is not a big number, I'm pleased that the speculators (ticket touts ) caught a bit of a cold really, it gives those people who missed out when they were first available the chance to get something special. Quite a few of these cars were dealer registered in the hope they could sell them over list as well.Hopefully the prices will drop a bit so that the really appreciative owner/drivers can get them at a reasonable price.

I'm actually not at all surprised by the high turnover of the GPs since there are , in my opinion, only 2 kinds of people who would have bought it: 1. Guys who wanted the novelty of owning something 'special' and to give themselves bragging rights of owning the latest, hottest car. Once the novelty factor wore off, they decided to move on to other things (like a Bugatti?), hence the sale. 2. Guys who are simply passionate about the Mini and understand its intrinsic value - they won't sell their cars in the short-term, ever.

I'm glad all these people want to sell as when the GP came out I wasn't able to get one (finaces weren't up to it), but got mine last week for under (just) list price with not very many miles on the clock and intend on keeping it for a long time. I'm sure there will be a lot of people in the same position as me. Also there was one for sale in autocar last week for £25995!!!!!!!!

I think it is the speculators trying to get out of their cars or the early adopters who always want to be the new kid on the block. With such a limited run I think it's a great car and as someone has already said, there is a nice choice for those that didn't managed to get one first time round. My local dealer sold four new cars when they came out, but has sold three used ones in December and January alone. They currently have a 500 mile one in stock now which looks the DB's. Only wish I had the money!! Now where did I put my lottery ticket?
