I think quite a few have taken their MINI round the ring. S&M is the only one that springs to mind.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Ive been there a couple of times last summer, but I cant steal your thunder for being the 1st UK car.

If its your 1st trip I just have to say if you drop into the carusel hold it, if you come up too soon it will spit you out and send you skidding accross the track.

WHAT A RIDE !!!!!

I remember some M2'ers going back in 2003 so they've been going for some time now.

Plenty have been to the Ring, not all have made it back, so if you crash, even that wont be a 'first'....

Dont get over confident. People die at the ring every year, and no insurance will cover you. If you close the track having an accident you'll also get a bill for loss of track earnings and repair costs. You'll be looking at a 50000 euro bill, plus your car repair costs.

Still, got to be done though. Like no other place on earth.

Nothing like the Playstation game experience either.

I think what Alex is asking is whether his will be the first UK GP (hence the JCW & GP forum ) not the first MINI.

Obviously he won't be the first UK MINI in nearly 6 years!

I went last year in my Z4, and plan to visit this year during July in the GP.

At least one GP has visited the Ring already.
Official (?) records:
A complete lap (BTG + some): MCS Works 200 bhp 8:55 min
A complete lap (BTG + some): GP 218 bhp 8:41 min.

I hope S&M will organize a new Ring event in 2007 *hint, hint*
