mpg jcw gp.

Has any GP owners noticed petrol consumption is high. I drive mine very conservatively and yet seem to not get much out of it always seem to be watching the fuel gauge.

He are my figures, they are accurate as I log every drop that goes in

GP #0881 23100 KM (14000 miles) at 26.65 MPG
GP #1657 19593 Miles at 26.12 MPG

I am happy with the figures based on how the 2 cars are used and the respective mod status.

Sorry to dig up this thread.

Heard a feint blowing noise from my exhaust yesterday whilst leaving work, thought nothing of it, then again today got really loud and started 'farting'.
I remembered this therad and it seems I have the same problem.

Car is out of warranty, 4600 miles.

Am I going to have to pay for this? Or can I make some sort of a case for myself?

Hi mGP, which dealer (group) are you intending to visit? I got mine repaired by Sytner after only 9 months of ownership from new (had approx 8,500 miles on the clock). Dealer didn't query it as was under warranty, however just make sure they order the right JCW part! Mick's tip re printing off these threads and/or looking for a bit of good old fashioned goodwill is certainly worth a try. Good luck and let us know how you get on. Paul

I am afraid to say, after my encounter with a pheasant two months ago and a new front end to the tune of £1000 my GP has now developed this exhaust problem. I am ringing the dealer this morning to book it in, although the warranty is up I took out the extended waranty so althoiugh the excess is £250 I am guessing this is much less than the cost I would incur.

The exhaust on our 2006 MCS JCW (21k miles) started to blow out tonight. I've had a look under the car and the exhaust is cracked around the support bracket in the mid section of the exhaust. Our car is now out of warranty. Has anybody bought (as opposed to claimed on warranty) a replacement from BMW (I'm imagining the price is going to be steep!) or can anybody recommend a good quality alternative supplier?

Thanks.

2nd to Dunkers request, I'm also looking for an exhaust for my '04 JCW, just the front section. Anyone have or know where I can get a decent second hand one?

Many thanks,
Alan

For the R53's I personally recommend the PlayMini exhausts, cat-back that is. Fully made of RVS, which is awesome and it sounds even better!

2005 MCS Chili, Dark Silver std: full leather and navigation.
This MCS is 100% original (except for the scangauge)
