My MCS is a terrible one for working the flange bolts loose and blowing. Undernetah the car, roughly under where the handbrake is, there's a flange where the cat-back section of the exhaust connects to the cat and manifold. Check the bolts here, there's two of them, as I've had numerous amounts work themselves loose over the years.

As far as im aware there is a thread about GP Exhausts that they have started to deterioate early, and i think a few members have had it replaced under warrenty!

Try your chances, see if you can find the thread!

Hi Alex,

Just had the very same problem & had it fixed yesterday under warranty (see my comments in the other thread: http://www.mini2.com/forum/john-coop...roblems-2.html). I had approx 8,500 miles o the clock when I heard the dreaded 'hole in my exhaust' rumble. I've had a new silencer fitted (I think), and from seeing under the car myself looked like it was to do with the pressure the JCW engine kit (+ GP tweaks) puts on the poor welds around the silencer - that's what the MINI mechanic said too. TIP: Mke sure your dealer orders the correct JCW part and is not a div like mine who at first ordered a standard MINI Cooper S part ... D'oh!!

Let us know how you get on.

Paul
