I also have a 2005 jcw with 18" jcw rims. I had exactly the same noise coming from the front right of the car when making tight slow turns. I was also fed the 'speil' that as it has the 18" rims on it the spacers rub when making turns??? Finally a couple of weeks ago i put the car in for some warranty work and i had enough with the noise. Finally i picked it up and was told that there was an identified issue with the bearing or something(unfortunately i can not for the life of me remember exactly what it was) to do with the lubrication, i.e. minis had been giving the wrong viscosity lubrication, as such this was causing the rubbing noise. Since they changed it i have not heard the noise once, woohoo!! Sorry i could not be more clear about the problem, but something to do with 'bearings', lubrication etc... |
