GP - Private Reg Plates

Thinking of getting a private plate for my GP - would be good to see any good ones out there to give me some ideas!

I got GP 54 WKS from the dvla last November for £245. Do a search because there were a few good ones when I was searching.

Mines GP O6O GP

Only £165.00 from DVLA

GO O6O GP ( GO 06 OGP) is available but I think was around £700.00 from memory

When you ring the DVLA or reg transfers etc with the plate you want, haggle! They wanted over £500 for mine ended up giving just under £200 and that was 3 yrs ago before the economy slumped!

Good luck.

Going on with that theme, you could also have: Y 4 YGP

ive just had a look at this site, and on the surface it seems very cheap... however when you click to buy it states that you have to pay additional fees which bring the price to the same price as what the DVLA are charging for most of the regs.

Yes - VAT and transfer fee. But they are the same price as the DVLA who are the source, whereas oter sites such as regtransfers.co.uk are more expensive.

btw - make sure the number plate is spaced correctly - mine is GP 06 NUT .. got pulled last week on the A1 going home by a mini loving PC who took photo's not just of the number plate but of the car and raved about it - THEN gave me a ticket and £30 fine!!! Apparently they are workign on a zero tolerance on numberplates however seem to miss the other cars I spotted on the same stretch with worse ones than me - ho hum.. live with the fact the GP is a Police Magnet

Thanks for the warning - that's what's been putting me off really.

The ones that I'm interested in are only any good if you bunch up the 2 parts and then split out a letter:

i.e. X12XX X

I see them on the road all the time as I'm sure we all do, but I have heard about the clamp down. Thought it was scare mongering though.
I'm assuming that you just get a fixed ticket, in which case it's probably worth it, unless you get nicked in your home town and then get pulled for a 2nd time?

Be aware that some reg companies just list all the plates that are on the DVLA site with their cut added on the top! Check at DVLA Personalised Registrations - Search and buy personalised registrations direct from DVLA. From 245 fully inclusive. to see if any plates you may like are available direct. The DVLA's listed price includes VAT and transfer fee, other places prices often don't.

Whats your roof number?

Regarding illegal spacing, you get a fine and they photograph the plate and send it to the DVLA who then send you a letter telling you to stop being naughty or they will take it off you. I think its on a '3 strikes and you're out' basis.

Thanks for the info.

My roof number is 1067!

Saw a nice plate - '1234 GP' but it's in the region of £4k!
