I used to have a black MCS, I was out in aberdeen one day and I saw 9 black MCS`s in a 2 hour stretch, I put it back to the shop the next day. With the GP I know that there are 4 in aberdeen, I can go weeks without seeing another mini that looks like mine. It sticks out like a sore thumb, if you want to get noticed it`s the car to go for, and it`s quite nippy too. One downside is people trying to race all the time, boy and girl racers in nova`s and corsa`s, and quite a few old guys and ladies too. If you have the chance to get one, then get it, great fun.

I would say the buzz you get from driving it. I have come from a MK5 R32 and it was an excellent move IMO. The supercharger noise, the looks you get, the unique look of the car. I agree with gpmick. Take one for a test drive and you will see why. Its one of those things that you will know whey when you get in one and drive it. As GP owners we are biased, but we wouldnt have them if we didnt think they were worth while. I had a MK5 R32 and before that a Megane RenaultSport Trophy and I have to say pound for pound fun the GP is the one. Hell Yeah!

The R53 MINI was/is a great car and the GP was the best of the breed from a drivers perspective. The exclusivity and fact some considerable effort went in to it as a factory car will always ensure it remains special. It was universally well received by the motoring press, even the MINI haters couldn't dislike the way it drove. I have owned/driven many of the great FWD cars such as all the Golf GTi's, 205 Gti, Ford Racing Puma, DC2 Integra Type R (Still love this car!), R53 Cooper S, EP3 Civic Type R, R56 Cooper S (last car for 2 years) and for the complete package the GP does it for me.

I do have a MCS at the moment and fully understand when you guys make reference to the driving experience. well the GP is way more exclusive and im sure about the turning head part.. but my problem is that My S is doing 220 hp I have a golf 5 gti dsg model doing 280 hp , i was looking to sell the golf and get the GP, but im not so sure anymore about that as i have an S that does similar power to the GP minus the looks and the GTI that has way more power than both, and its DSG im in love with the gp though, but im not sure R53 MINI COOPER S

This is what turned me on to the GP ...

Once you have got in a GP and driven it (if you are a mini lover) there is nothing better. The looks, that stand it apart from other mini's the performance and as highlighted above the effort that went in to the design and build. The but the problem with the GP is exactly what i have said above, it stands out! I am just trawling the panel beaters at the moment to find someone to repair a massive dent in my bonnet and replace my front scoop decal. I left it outside the shops on sunday afternoon in a busy car park and some t#$t vandalised it. The problem with having this car in the UK is that it is so fantastic it prevokes mindless acts of pure jealousy. But in my opinion it is well worth it, although it will be wrapped in cotton wool and parked in two spaces from now on...
