JCW Thirst 23.8mpg

Hi I'd just like to know if I have a hole in the tank
I do drive the car pretty hard but my clio cup would average 32+
Belfast traffic + craigantlet hills = 23mpg over 235 miles this week

is this to be expected with this car ?

Cheers Dan

Or if you drive them in stop and go traffic

Depending on the type of driving, the fuel consumption in my 2002 MCS can range anywhere between 17 and 34 MPG (multiply by 1.2 for UK figures).

Just to confirm what has already been said! The fuel consumption on the original MCS is entirely down to how you drive it and whether you are stuck in traffic or not. 23 mpg in the circumstances you describe is about right

All performance comes at a price, I had a diesel Seat FR170 , mapped & decat to 220bhp , but even though it was a dirty derv, it still struggled to give me 30mpg . I am enjoying the mini, though it is a 2nd car so economy doesn't really matter to me .

our JCW averages around 28 mpg, but fantastic fun and well worth the lowish MPG, you cant get better for the money
