R53 jcw

Well my dad purchased a 2006 R53 JCW.

It had some chavy RS wiperblades with the horrible metal cack. So they went straight in the bin and fitted some aeroblades.

Changed the sidelight bulbs for LEDS because he has Xenons and it had yellow sidelights.

Ill be giving him a hand in modin' it

We are looking at getting the Alta induction kit but heard the GT Tuning one is good which is best??

Going for:
Strut brace,
Carbon exterior i.e. wing mirror covers and intake etc,
Carbon wrap the roof and vinyl stripes
New alloys.

Possibly the big stick out spoiler. No idea the proper name etc.

Anyone got any other ideas??

Welcome to MINI2 (& your dad)

Best CAI for the R53 is the Dave F hybrid , other really good mods include a reduced pulley,

Speak to Paul or Thomas at 1320 Mini - Mini Parts - Mini Performance Parts, they'll be able to talk you through a good mod package that would suit most budgets.

Oh, & post some pics up...we like pics

Don't know about Alta induction kit but I've had a GTT one fitted (along with a Miltek sports manifold). Easy to fit, works well and no reliability probs despite taking the car on a few track days.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Means alot.

The spoiler we were looking at is the JCW R56 one but unsure it will fit. Sure with a bit of drilling we can get it done

The thing about the GTT induction kit is that the GTT strut brace fits without any modification were as the alta and pipercross ones require a bit of tweaking.

Does anyone do a good RARB? Need to check if whiteline do one.

We love how the JCW works proper burbles on run down sounds sweet!!

No but that could be the new one!!! Cheers mate

Is that because they were factory fitted instead of dealer fit?

The GTT CAI makes a nice noise but being an open top does let in hot air from the engine bay, the Dave F looks completely OEM, still adds to the 'charger whine, is fully enclosed & defiantely adds bhp on the dyno .

The GTT upper strut brace fits too

There's a couple of 'big stick out' rear spoilers for the R53: The GP one, and; the dedicated R53 JCW one (available in white/carbon and black/carbon).

There's also the Challenge rear spoiler for the R53 which was used on the race cars.

All of these will fit much much better that the R56 item which is designed to replace the upper panel on the tailgate (so won't fit without drastic mods)
