Which route should i go? Works Cooper or Cooper + Works?!?! help me plzzz!

Hi,

I am desperate to get kitted out with another mini - im missing it like mad!

Basically, I spotted a works cooper for sale down at john cooper's but its been sold. So ive been scouting around and being in the motor trade myself, have come across a possible option.

I have been offered an 04 reg Mini Cooper in black with A/C and pepper pack. Its done 6k miles and I can get it for £10,200 + road tax.

This seems like a good deal but the car is fairly basic.

How much would it cost me to get the Works kit fitted seperately?

I have a max budget of 14k so I could kit the car out nicely - would like the aero kit + some nice alloys too (R90 style pref).

Is this my best option?

cheers

chris

From the threads I've seen on M2 it seems the Cooper Works kit (as opposed to the Cooper S works kit) is a bit dubious in terms of adding extra perfomance.
I've seen quite a few people here advise against the kit. You might want to have a look at some past threads before splashing out - one Car Mag stated the performance actually got worse!

I suppose the good news it it leaves more cash for the extras like R90s (which almost everyone loves )

I agree. I would steer well clear of the Works kit on the Cooper.
