Question Any Mini's in Florida?

I recently visited Florida and did quite a lot of driving whilst there. I travelled by road from Jacksonville to Miami, back up to Orlando, and across to Tampa.

In the 6 weeks I was there I only saw one Mini, a green Cooper S near Cocoa Beach.

Are there any more Minis in Florida

I was in Florida a couple of weeks ago, and saw six or seven on a round trip between Palm Beach and Miami. That's more than I'd see here in California on a similar length drive.

They do exist then!

You should have got in contact with the Florida folks and some of us would have come out to meet you on your trip. Come over to www.sunshineminis.org before your next trip and let us know your coming.

I sould be over in February / March next year for maybe a month or so. I will try and look up a few mini owners whilst I'm there.

I think I would feel a little intimidated driving a Mini in the USA at the side of all the huge cars and pickup trucks. A guy just up the road from me has got a US pickup truck, dont know the type / model. but my Mini would easily fit in the back, and a family of 5 in the cab. No doubt it also has a healthy appetite for unleaded and at the equivelant of over $5 a gallon he can keep it.

Ahmen brother. That's why you have to be fast and nimble in your MINI. My brother-in-law has a Dodge pickup (the Hemi version) and we got a tape measure and figured that without the wheel wells in the bed of the truck the MINI would fit.

Make sure you let us know your coming to Florida and we'll try to get some members together to meet you.

My other car is a LWB Mitsubishi Shogun (Pajero), and apart from a Toyota Landcruiser, its about the biggest 4x4 you can get off the shelf in the UK, but it would be dwarfed by some of your 4x4's.

Last time I was in Florida (May 2003), I was driving a Dodge saloon car, I can't remember the model but it was about a 3.5 litre engine and I was out accelerated from some traffic lights by a pickup truck towing a three axle trailer home that was almost as big as my house!!!.

A very good friend of mine lives near Kissimmee and I try to visit at least once a year. I should be over again early next year, so I will try and look up a few Mini owners.
