Mini Countryman 2006

Hi folks!

There are different topics about the IAA concept Mini and the announced estate version (traveller, countryan however). So here is my impression of a countryman-like Mini:

Not sure about the c-pillar and if it will come with painted sheet metal, but I think it's not that bad. What do you think? Would it be a good seller?

Greetings
André

PS: Here is another impression, but this 100% fantasy...

Yes, very tasty coupe. We can only hope that the Lightweight Special Edition comes out something like this. It is supposedly being bodied by Bertone so should have some Italian verve about it. I have been imagining something more like yours (only in my mind's eye as I don't have the skill/equipment to draw up an illustration) and was wondering whether they might come up with a genuine fastback MINI, since it has been announced as having only two seats, rather than merely a lightened saloon with an empty space where the back seats normally go. 'My' version would have a largely plexiglass fastback, maybe utilising the bootlid hinges from the current convertible with a flickup spoiler above to echo the MCS trademark one. Two separate exhausts would exit beneath the rear lights. Wing mirrors would be in more streamlined pods. There would be bulging arches for wider wheels (deep multispoke like those on your version and on the Audi TT Quattro Sport) in alloy wings/fenders. The bonnet intake would be more aggressive, allowing for an uprated intercooler, with alloy or carbon fibre bonnet. The dash would be carbon-fibre, too, with an array of instruments but, of course, no aircon or ICE. Perhaps, a roll cage could be built in and fullharness belts as an option to complement the Recaro/JCW-style bucket seats. In 1966, Broadspeed produced a fastback coupe variant of the classic BMC Mini and that was thought quite handsome at the time but a 21st century lightweight coupe would look light years ahead in style - as does yours. Excellent! Shouldn't this be (also) posted under the Lightweight heading?
