Offline | Alfa Cooper OK, it may be sacriledge to talk about a 5 door Cooper (and MINI are planning one). But how about a 5 door Cooper where the door and door handle is hidden/integrated like the Alfa 147 and 156? It would add an element of practicality. | MINI2 Master | Well if the MINI make is to flourish then an expanded model lineup is needed in the future. A one model manufacturer will not sell as many cars as a multi model one. A lot of present MINI owners will be wondering what to do as they hear the patter of little feet rise in crescendo to a heavy thump of teenage boots. How will they fit into a 3 door? A 5 door design is a tough challenge to BMW. Will it be a MINI on steroids, or a larger sibling with a family resemblance? The Toyota RAV4 3 door always looked happier than the 5 door version. The original design was simply stretched. I do hope that MINI show a little more imagination on their 5 door. |

Offline | i would definitely consider a 5 door variant , if only to aid helping the little one in and out. He's only been in the mini once and that was not easy.... As long as the final product looks good they have a chance. |
