Offline | Models / engines - what's it going to be for 2007 I've been reading all the relevant posts in this section but still would like to know what we can expect in terms of 2007 models / engines. ONE 2007: unchanged Tritec 90hp? Cooper 2007: new BMW/PSA 115 hp atmosperic ? Cooper S 2007: new BMW/PSA 170 hp turbo ? What about the 143 hp turbo - will that go in any MINI? |

Offline | Some press reports suggest there will be 2 cooper models one with 115hp and the other with the 143hp turbo. Would make sence to plug the gap between the cooper and the S power outputs. |

Offline | A 143hp cooper is what I'm hoping for actually. Dalboyne, actually I haven't found the official BMW/PSA description of the new 170hp, only the new 143hp twin scroll turbo (see this link:http://www.forum-auto.com/sqlforum/s...ujet270470.htm - pdf) It would be surprising that, if MINI want to reduce production cost, they would bring out a new Cooper model? Unless the Cooper becomes 143hp standard and no more 115hp - would be cool.. |

Offline | For the US it would seem to make sense that the Cooper and Cooper S be 143 (low pressure turbo) and 170hp - after all, the US market relies heavily on the automatic and the non CVT eats power. Supplying all turbo models would simplify matters for US dealers. Tio Barry |

| R57? Bring it on! | Here's news from today's Autoexpress web page, it's talking about the Peugeot 207 CC, which will share the engines: Power will come from two new 1.6-litre engines developed with the help of BMW. A naturally aspirated unit produces 115bhp or 130bhp, while a turbocharged model delivers 150bhp. The engines will also appear in the standard 207, with a warm 150bhp GT variant set to debut at the British Motor Show in July. Hot hatch fans will have to wait for the Geneva Motor Show in March next year for the full-strength GTI to arrive with upwards of 170bhp. A GTI version of the CC is not planned, but diesel drop-tops are on the cards. |

Offline | ive read in the new mini mag that the cooper will have 140bhp n/a cooper s 170+ turbo'ed. and all minis will come with 6 speed gearbox. am i on my own....id like a paddleshift gearbox a decent one mind , or possibly one like the mercs, which have semi automatic boxes with the paddles, so you can shift with paddles or move the gear knob up and down, or just use traditional automatic. |

Offline | I should think they are under close wraps....... at least till September when the press releases start filtering through. Even then it may be some time after the launch of the initial models before the new diesel materialises. ![]() |
