| MINI2 Newbie | New M-Cooper - Its here! Dear All, As promised the New M-Cooper. With 19" wheels, wide flared arches, and a lowered lid. This gives the MINI the stealth sleek look. Gone have the external bonnet washer jets, and even the wing mirrors have had a move forward. The M3 style stumped rear aerial replaces the standard 16v Bee-sting ones seen on many a common car. Longer flat skinned door panels run the full height of the bodywork with not an inch of plastic to be seen. Body coloured, smoothed arches, extend from, a one piece rear-quarter panel to encompass the 9" wide rear wheels, with huge 320mm vented and grooved 6-calliper disks, big enough to eat your dinner off, the M-Cooper has the stopping power of an atom bomb. A 6-speed box, linked with a Limited-Slip-Diff to a 4-Cyliner 20valve Turbo charged engine, creating 276bhp, sees the M-Cooper accelerate at lightspeed. The all time four-wheel drive system will challenge even the hardiest driver to unsettle its stance on country lanes. With a 0-60 speed that will see you waste an Evo 6 from the lights, the M-Cooper will accelerate all the way to 158mph. Warp 9 Mr Scott. Enjoy. ![]() Last edited by simonjessop : Aug 8th, 2002 at 06:36 PM. |

| MINI2 Newbie | Unfortunatly its not for real, its about 7 hours work thought!!! (Photoshop 7) I'm glad you like it. I thought up the spec on the drive home last night. Add a little bit of creative writing and the end result (IMHO) sounds like a write up on the news page of a BMW newsletter. ![]() Your thoughts, opinions and requests are most welcome. Different colours will take a few days to modify and i'm away next week so watch this space.... Glad you all liked it. |

| MINI2 Master (Oh Wow!) | This will never happen. This would never happen. That car wouldn't handle half as well as it does with those 19's. I have asked my dealership to put my name down in slot number #1 for that car. They assured me once again, its not happening. BMW are trying their best to keep the BMW and MINI brands apart. Infact so much so, the mini is not mentioned on their website - anywhere! Its not going to happen! A nice thought though! | MINI2 Newbie | Nice to see a positive response! Although unconfirmed rumours are flying around of an M-Series Mini, I think you point is unjustified. Although BMW and MINI are seperate brands it is unjust to say they are keeping the two apart. The fact that outside my dealership the Mini Cooper, and Mini Cooper S take pride of place on a huge display stand next to M3's and M5's. Its the first thing you notice as you drive past. You were syaing: http://www.bmwgroup.com/e/index2.sht...w_group.shtml& Click on MINI, under the sub heading The Brands. Simon ![]() |

| MINI2 Newbie | Wicked. Glad you liked it Alex. I was a bit over-protective this morning! Must've sounded like a right Escort driver huffing and puffing. Apologies! It is a fab idea. If BMW read this post make it god damnit. And don't charge us to much either. Other opinions welcome. I have now fully recovered from Post-traumatic 9 o'clock-no-milk-for-coffee syndrome. | MINI2 Newbie | From the front eh..... hmmmmm could be intersting. I'm going to do it in the new funky metallic blue colour this time, cos the light looks well good on it. I have some fab ideas on what could be done... It'll probably take all week to do cos i'm at home tonight fri, got mini test drives tomorrow (first time!!!), then travelling to devon sunday morning, for a friday return home.... Hopefully get something in over the week, maybe a few sneak previews... god those arches are gonna be wide with 19x8 on the front...... MMmmmmmm i can see it all now.... Simon |

Offline | Hmmmmm....sorry but I don't like it one bit. I think it is the 19" wheels that make the car look extremely cartoonish. I would love to see what would happen to the underside of the car when entering a steep parking garage ramp....ouch! Good Photoshop job, though! ![]() '02 MINI Cooper CVT On Order: 2004 MCS (Est production date: 9/5/03) |

Offline | I posted about this over at Focaljet.com Check out the post. I discovered that BMW is currently working on a new 2.2L DOHC I4 "M" engine that will put out 240hp at 9,000 RPM. All engine! That would be the ideal next engine for the MINI IMO. Leave the sacred MINI Cooper S name alone though. ![]() Also the June 2002 car and driver reported that the Cooper S's supercharger is capable of blowing 11.6 psi at 14,000 RPM. The problem is the engine shuts off the power at the computer controlled 6,800 redline. The cool thing about this is that by chaninging the diameter of the pulleys that are related to spinning the superchare it is possible to make the supercharger spin much faster and boost more. Adding boost also require fuel and air adjustments which can be modified with a customized computer program (CHip). I would like to see a 250hp tuned S!!! Best bang for buck modification has to be a boost upgrade kit. No doubt about it. www.focaljet.com Rocks! |

| MINI2 Newbie | Wow. First computer in a week so this is kinda brief. Howdy all, hope all is well. Mixed reviews from focal jet. May i add that the picture is not for real is a photoshop mock-up done by a non-graphic designer. Its not meant to look perfect. If it did, i'd work for ferrari or bmw or some high-end manufacturer, but i don't. The front view M-Cooper is coming along nicely, should be due sometime soon. Always difficult doing front end jobs, its gotta look perfect with all the proper lighting effects etc. Preview should be available on Wednesday next week. Nice BMW engine. 9,000 rpm red-line.. should see off Civic Type-R then. I wonder what your BMW might say if you waste your supercharger by changing the pully sizes to increase the boost. something along the lines. "Hmmm, thats tough - mate". Kiss good bye to your warranty. Si. |
