Waiting for New John Cooper Works Car that will produce 200bhp plus

Hi All,

I would like to know who is waiting for the new JCW and will not purchase the New Cooper S?
Why are you waiting and what do you think the new JCW will be like?

Based on the JCW accessories book for the R56 MINI the new JCW could be an amazing car in terms of looks, handling and power.

When will it be out and should one wait???

PS i do have an order in for the R56 Cooper S March delivery but it could always be canceled!!!

MINI, it is a way of life.

i read this a few times. Why the long wait? I ordered mine in the second week November and by 6th December it had arrived... just wondering? Was I 'lucky'?

Depends on were you live and how many orders your dealer might get in a month. I ordered mine 12th december and it hopfully arrives the first week in april.

Based on my location, the car will have to be shipped to Durban harbor in South Africa. This can take a couple weeks.

I'm certainly going to wait. I love my 2003 JCW with a mere 200hp. Hoping for much more so I won't fear being challenged by a Mazdaspeed 3 with 263-293hp.

I was going to get an r56, but the crash (see general chat forum) and the rumours that the r56 is a little dull (also buying a house) means that I will be waiting for a JCW. If the new engine is so hard to get reliable power from, then it will be interesting to see what they can do. It seems a better idea than tune an MCS yourself (although I have it on good authority not to doubt the talents of companies like GTT (a bit of a plug there?)).

Thought I read early 2008 somewhere? That would be brilliant for me. I'm hoping for 225Bhp harnessed properly through an LSD. (or any other genuinely good engineering).

Paul
