R56 JCW Auto

I see in another thread that the R56 will not be available as a retrofit kit, but that it will be a separate model. So my question is, does anyone know if the R56 JCW will be available with an Auto box also?

I'd guess none, as this is the first thread I've seen about the future possible inclusion of an auto JCW in the MINI range.

I'd like to see MINI get a VW style dsg going. I'm not sure if I'd buy one.. but if I had to have a auto I'd like one of those!

Thanks for the reply. I am thinking of ordering an R56 soon but I might wait a little longer to see if any info becomes available.

Apparently the JCW could be previewed in June at MINI United, but its only a rumour and we're still not fully sure what the car will be, if it will be the raw beast we want or if it will just be another watered down offering.

But keep your eyes on the news section and the forums on here, and as soon as others know I am sure you will find the info you need on here

Cheers Rakey. It will be interesting to see if they go down the route of the JCW being a stand alone Mini like the GP. I suspect they were blown away at the way the GP sold out so fast, and I think their trust in a routine JCW based vehicle doing the same would be misplaced. But even if they do do this, I would imagine with the number of Auto boxes sold in the US, they will still offer the vehicle with an Auto option. Hey... maybe they'll even make it as an auto ONLY vehicle. That will give the nay-sayers something to talk about.

It will be interesting to see how the JCW pans out, if it will be the special model in the range like the GP was, or if it will just be another step on from the last JCW's but softer as the MCS is compared to the old MCS.

I certainly hope its the first approach, otherwise I doubt I'll be buying another new MINI

. The Auto-only suggestion was really just feeding the trolls. Which i know i really shouldn't do.

As for the Auto JCW, I guess we'll just have to wait'n'see.
