Reading the Tech Spec they say 'no mechanical brake'

So if you run out of power while hurtling along the brakes won't function?

No need to recharge ( although you can if you wish) - eh surely you have to or you don't????

That is interesting. Wonder what the "life time" would be on the batteries etc...

Can see it now at the RED LIGHT: What in the h#$$ was that passing me?

Nope, in fact these brakes would be much more reliable since there is no physical interaction, and therefore no parts to ware out.

When you stop applying power to a motor the magnetic forces within the motor will act to stop it turning. By forcing it to turn, ie keeping the car moving, you induce a current in the coil, in effect turing the motor into a dynamo. As energy cannot be destroyed or created only change state, the momentum of the car is truned back into electrical energy reducing the cars momentum. Virgin trains advertise the same thing on their adverts and many trains use this technique often refered to as dynamic braking or simply dynamics.

These type of cars are the future. TNT are currently trialing a lorry in London that is fully electrical and has to limited in performance other wise it would be doing 0-60 time in less than 6s!!!! Silently too!!

Depending on the cost I'dhave one of these over a twurbo conversion any day!
