More info on Mini SUV - 2010

I saw the story on the main page, looks like Motor Trend has some more info and a photochop (or a concept picture, but looks like a chop to me).

So they've made up a photoshop and done a bit of speculation. Almost like reading AutoExpress.

That looks ridiculous. I hope it never turns out like that. Actually I find the whole idea of a MINI SUV idiotic (but that's my opinion of soft-roaders in general anyway!).

Pretty pointless. Thanks to the U.S market for demanding such a slur on the MINI name - shame on you.

I think we had the Moke, Mini Van, Traveller, pick-up, Woody etc a long time ago, cant blame the US for those.

Can cerrtainly pin the SUV on the USA market. Am more than happy for the traveller to expand the range. But the SUV is just pointless and deviates away from what MINI/mini is about. Back in the days of the original, no-one said I need to jack my car 2 feet off the ground and cover it in plastic cladding and stick tractor tyres on it 'cos I got to get the kids to school down a slightly muddy road.

As for the Cayenne, it's junk. Does for Porsche what the SUV does for MINI. Weakens the brand. Has taken some time for Porsche owners to get used to a off roader from their sports car maker. For me MINI is about a small fun car which can spawn various styles. This appears to be a step to far.

Oh dear, it looks horrible and putrid. I hate soft-roaders but there is a tiny piece of me that almost likes it. AND I'm English! Goodbye everyone, I have a date with a shotgun....
