| Change Is Not Good! | the problem these days it that it'll have to meet costing requirements & be able to put down the same line as the main cars, so i'd only really expect something like the Seven/ Parklane & Checkmate with an exclusive colour & maybe some trim changes |

Offline | I'd like to see an "Ultra" Limited edition in tiny (50 would be a good choice! )numbers and then a more "Mass Market" version like the previous SE cars which could slot in with normal production. Rover didn't bother with too much custom work for the anniversary models either just colour/trim variations and a few badges but the limited production runs kept them desirable. |

Such a shame after 4 otherwise very happy years on here If you are a friend, I can always be contacted here! |

Offline | People forget now that the cars were not called Minis when introduced in 1959, those sold through Austin dealers were AUSTIN SE7ENS and through Morris dealers MORRIS MINI-MINORS, meaning a mini-sized MORRIS MINOR. It was some time later when they were just referred to as Minis and it must have been at least 30 years later when MINI became a brand on its own...I'm sure some of you will advise accordingly. So can someone work out when the 25th Anniversary of MINI being a stand-alone brand will be, or has that date passed already? |

Offline | I know what you mean, that a good point. But I think you should if your a fan of the Classic Mini. they do for other car manufactures that don't exisit anymore. They still have kept manufacture at longbridge and kept the John Cooper name. And the 1st gen cars where developed by Rover as BMW had never setup a FWD car before. And it was going to be a Rover car until BMW sold them. ![]() |

Offline | Now you're talking! Perfect colour for the car. Take the seats a little further with a 50th Anniversary "wreath/crest" (like the 35th one) embroidered into the leather in gold on the seats. If you know how many MINIs you have you don't have enough ... |

Offline | Oh dear. Is the standard of maths knowledge really so bad these days? 500 is 50 *times* 10. 50 to the power of 10 is 50 muliplied by 50, multiplied by 50, multiplied by 50 and so on, until you have a string of ten 50s in a row. Mental arithmetic is not my strong point this early on a Saturday, but you're clearly looking at BILLIONS of cars. I know that the MINI has been popular, but making umpteen billion special editions runs the risk that the model won't be very "special" any more - plus everyone on the planet will end up owning a great many MINIS - just think of the congestion, man! |

Offline | Not all of it! They can't make much of it because of all the work Rover did - it wouldn't be safe for anything other than cars. They did explain why, but I wasn't really listening. Still, MG (under NAC and SAIC) have a third and are starting to produce the TF again in about 6 weeks and some new 'exciting' MG models next year. Still, if BMW were to bring out some special editions I may upgrade. I'll most probably keep mine until then because I see it as mine is a bit different, whereas R56s aren't to the same level. As a result I'll keep mine and my individuality! ![]() ![]() MINI One Seven |

Offline | After my last Mini needing more repair work done than the car was actually worth (three gearboxes in the first 30,000 miles, and a complete cut-off and re-weld back on of the front end thanks to corrosion in the first 4 years), I swore *never* to buy another car built at Longbridge for as long as I lived. If the new MINIs had been built there, I'd have bought something Japanese. |

Offline | The most recent Longbridge (MGR) cars were actually very good - they always do well in JD Power etc - MG ZT was the 4th satisfying car to own this year. The only problem was the public image - such a shame. Japanese cars are notorious for rust - you end up with new wheels all of the time, and I know of Lexuses which aren't even 4 yrs old that have had new bonnets / doors for rust and or corrosion - sometimes the odd one isn't perfect. I'd buy a car made at longbridge - lets face it they've got to be better than those made in China - see Brilliance BS6!![]() ![]() MINI One Seven |
