Offline | I dunno. Of course there was a classic Mini produced as a Italian Job special edition from Rover. They only came in red, white or blue. But that was in the mid-90s, some 25 years after the original movie was released! + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | Sounds right to me. BMW cars (Z3, Z8 etc.) and motorcycles were featured heavily in many of the recent Bond films. No special editions resulted from those opportunities. Rover on the other hand, would make a special edition classic Mini on any theme at all... e.g. Mini Sidewalk, Mini Studio, Mini Flame... and so on.... ![]() + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | Surprising that after the movie Goldmember's use of MINI that we didn't see a special edition Austin MINI. Now that would have raised the hackles of Classic Mini owners. ![]() |

Offline | Wrong. http://www.zroadster.net/tim/colors/col-limited.html Wrong again. there was an edition of 100 Z3's marketed as the Neiman Marcus James Bond Edition back in 1995. It has specific numbered plaque in the car. |

Offline | True enough, but it is hard to consider a model that the haughty department store conjures up and then places on the cover of its Christmas catalog as a true factory special edition. Thank goodness Needless Markup didn't do a MINI Cooper special edition! + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | yeah, BMW would have thought twice about selling it thru neiman marcus but it got the publicity it needed. has everyone forgotten that MINI itself put up a few "Launch Editions" models? nothing facny but just an early model MINI with odd specs of optional equipment plus a x/500 number and a flag on the dial? surprised no one bought it up. as well as the japanese "one year anniversary model". |

| MINI2 Master | What about the BMW Alpina editions, like the Z8 this year? I have a Launch Edition. In Canada, at least, it contains a selection of features you cannot normally order otherwise. As for the MINI's in Italian Job, none are standard by the time 'wrench' is done with them. And I need to see the film again to be sure but I think the Cooper's may have had intercoolers... For the next film, how about "2 Italians, 2 Jobs" ![]() (Just making a 2 Fast 2 Furious joke, nothing toward Italians meant or implied.) Offline | the Z8 is just an automatic with a slightly less powerfull engine. also some interior stuff. it looks like BMW didn't want to tackle that task on there own. Alpina is already a well known BMW tuner and a well trusted name. now why anyone would want a car like that that's automatic is beyond me. |

Offline | This Australian Motoring News Site reckons: "A special commemorative ‘Italian Job’ accessories kit is planned for MINI Cooper and Cooper S models, with the specialty packs offered in three packages consistent with the colours highlighted in the film. The Cooper ‘Italian Job’ package will be available in Blue and Pepper White, whilst for the Cooper S, Chilli Red will be the signature colour. Each pack consists of an aerodynamic kit including roof spoiler, additional headlights, 17” cross spoke alloy wheels and a unique ‘Italian Job’ badge in black and white. In addition, there is the option of including bonnet stripes." I think the two questions from that are: 1) Is that really the full spec of the italian job mini's? Can it be recreated even if they don't have an official edition in the UK? 2) Can I get it in BRG? R |

Offline | ...in fact, Mini site for the Italian Job film has a 'Behind The Scenes' section which lists which accessories they use to create there cars: - Aero kit - 17inch R90 wheels - Bonnet stripes - Driving lamps (all of which you could have guess from just looking at the photos from the film) Anyone spot anything else from the photos/film? Also lists a few mods they did to shoot the film to do with cutting holes here and there and having two steering wheels so the stuntman could really do the driving while they filmed etc... R |

Offline | i dont think BMW need to do any sort of special edition cars to increase their selling power. The Bond films did it for the Z cars and the new IJ film is going to do the same for the MINI. There is an italian job special edition classic for sale on eBay incase anyone is interested. saw it the other day. |
