Me too,even last year I was thinking what great 1600 rally car it would make,especially on tarmac right out of the box.Just a matter of time...

S1600 rally cars are VERY modified, and have at least 220bhp. The Cooper S can't compete as it has forced induction and the Cooper is about 100bhp short so without lots of modifications it would be very slow.

Don't discount it though.

200bhp without forced induction is easy when you've got lots of money to throw at it - could use throttle bodies??

I'd expect 300bhp from naturally aspirated...

Don't know if the MINI rally car will come to fruition though
