E85 Flexible Fuel MINI

I'd like to put in a vote for BMW to add E85 flexible fuel capability to the MINI. Ford and DaimlerChrysler, in particular, are shipping more and more vehicles capable of using either conventional gasoline or E85 (a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline). The engineering involves a fuel sensor fed back to the engine controller, to adjust engine operating characteristics according to the fuel mix.

E85 is usually less expensive to U.S. motorists (thanks to tax differences), and it uses far less imported petroleum stock. More and more filling stations are selling E85. Range is slightly diminished with E85, power is generally improved slightly, and emissions are a bit lower.

For more information on E85, visit:

I second that

I'd like to see more FlexFuel capable engines across manufacturers lineups.

Off the topic slightly, I'd also like to see more turbodiesels offered in North America.

Well, as soon as we can get low sulpher diesel here, (if I'm not mistaken, it is what they run across the pond...) we should be able to get the European diesels here.

Some of those BMW diesels are drool-worthy!

You can have my MINI when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.
