Offline | I've driven over the Duke's pass seven times in the two weeks that I've had my Cooper S. It's a steep and winding public road which links Aberfoyle to the Trossachs and Brig O'Turk, with multiple linked hairpins and S bends over 5 miles through mountain and forest, and excellent visibility so you can usually see a long way ahead. This photo doesn't do it justice, it's mainly just serious twisties, as you'd imagine in this terrain. As you leave Aberfoyle heading north, the first couple of hairpins are still in town, in the 30 MPH zone, but they're slapped on the side of a steep hill and just doing them at 30 gets the tyres quite warm - most family saloons have to slow to walking speed to get round 'em. (Sorry about the size, oooh er missus!) ![]() |

Offline | Well as Foxcasper and I can confirm (we both recently traveled on it - separately - in our new Cooper S's), the the Blue Ridge Parkway it is one big 470 mile long MINI road. [click to enlarge and see the beauty] You could do a Search for Blue Ridge on this site and read and see more about our MINIs on that road. ![]() + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | My girlfriend live's out in the sticks in Wales. I work during the week in Colerne and i've noticed the little roads to and from the M4 are getting longer and longer and the M4 shorter each week, as I find new 'interesting' routes. I reckon in a couple of months I won't be going near a dual carriageway or motorway. There is a nice little road from Colerne to the M4 and I have passed a few MINI's going down there now ![]() |

Offline | They are long boring stretches of tarmac, that are supposed to allow you to move from a to b at speed. ![]() However they are more used these days as car parks, full of angry drivers (Unless your in a MINI )Ever notice how the roadworks are always planned for the busy times !!! ![]() |

Offline | My favourite stretch of road has to be the A69 from Newcastle to Edinburgh. I try and visit my homeland every other year and my wife hates this one stretch where the road is like a roller coaster and you cant see what is oncoming until you hit the crest. She also leans over into my side of the car as she is afraid of me getting too close to them old stone walls Man I sure do miss driving in England, over here in Florida its just long boring straight roads although Sebring is not too far away Limey. |
