Multi Disc CD Player

Hi guys

Just a quick question. Downloaded (legaly) some tunes on my PC and burnt them to disc as mp3 files but when I put it in my 6 disc changer it says on the display that there is ' NO DISC' there. Does the Mini audio system not recognise CD's with mp3 files??? After all it is 2005 and even Fords system can read them. If not what should I save them to disc as??

Strange thing is we had a standard Cooper as a loan car while ours was in having a new hood put on and that had the bog standard one disc player fitted and it played fine on that!!

Any help would be gratefully received

Cheers guys in advance.

Only the late 2004 on Boost single CD head unit will play MP3 tracks I'm afraid - the Mini CD changer will not.

Does your CD burning software have a choice between formatting the CD as an 'audio' type versus a 'data' type?
If the multidisk doesn't support MP3 then you'll have to burn them as .wav files. Surprisingly, there are quite a few '06 cars that have multidisk CD players that don't support MP3, just not sure if MINI does...

Well the loan car we had was a brand new 55 plate one and it still worked. There must be an easy way around this problem???

Can save the files as almost any type of file and can also burn as an audio CD as well as a data CD. In fact the one that won't play was burned as an audio CD!!!

Will try saving as a .wav file so watch this space
