Offline | Extended warranty - any experience with Warranty Direct? I can't decide if to take up the MINI extended warranty @ £502 or go with an alternative such as Warranty Direct, who have quoted me £255 including full (5*) recovery service. If any one has experience of Warranty Direct in the UK (good or bad) or any other alternate warranty company then I, and probably others would be very pleased to hear from you. Thanks ps. My MCS hasn't got any aftermarket addons so no problems with voided warranty EB/W MCS delivered Oct 02 |

Offline | i had a 3rd party warranty on an old golf...cant remember if it was with them or not...check that all aspects of the car are covered as they tend not to like to deal with anything other than mechanical defects and tend to leave electrics and abs etc off... |

Offline | Don't know if it works the same way in the UK, but in the US, some dealers will only accept certain aftermarket warranty companies. Meaning if you don't have a warranty from one their accepted companies, you have to pay for the repair at the dealer and then seek reimbursement after the fact from the warranty. If that can possibly happen, you might want to check w/your dealer and see if they accept Warranty Direct. |

Offline | I looked at warranty direct and while I haven't gotten it yet I probabaly will. The BMW ext warranty is with a 3rd party as well. There were 2 differences, one ins the services covered (they were equivilant) and also the cost, warranty direct was significantly cheaper. I talked to BMW sales about the difference, the only reason they came up with to buy theirs was they were 'more familiar' with their 3rd party vendor. BMW offered me a reduced price on their's but were still over $100 more than warranty direct. I can't justify paying more just for the luxury of BMW being more familiar with a vendor. |
