Solid Color Paint or Mettalic Paint

I need help for me to decide if I will choose a "mettalic paint" or the "solid color paint".I am flexible in any color but I am more concern on the type of paint which is more easy to clean & maintain.

Thanks in advance.

These days colour matching of metallic paints is not a problem. Lighter colours are in my experience easier to maintain and keep looking sharp, as they don't show the minute scratches that will be introduced with cleaning. I am hoping the metallic in the DS will help in this regard.

This might sound really stupid and not help in anyway but....the Pure Silver looks fairly clean even when it's reasonably dirty. Not really close up but from a cars length away at least. IYGWIM.

I agree, Silver is a good "dirt" colour.

This looks best IMO & does not cost extra

My next choices would be:
Red/White
Pure Silver (solid or w/ black)
Indi Blue/White
BRG/white

I think the what looks best dirty question is a red herring. (and anyway, black herrings with white tops are far better )

I eat solids and there are only a couple avail. on the S.But I think non - mettalics most likely hide scratches etc. better !

Jet Black MCS
Lapis leather
17s or 15s (winter)

Granted... but they're so-o-o-o common. I wouldn't want one

DO NOT GO FOR SOLID BLACK!!!!!

It will show every single teeny tiny little scratch from a mile off. (especially bird claws and pecks.....grumble grumble moan winge).....

Silver is the easiest to keep clean and will hide most scratches the easiest.

Touche' --It was one of the few colors that didn't have an initial hold up, was considered a "safe" choice, so was overused on pre-spec MINIs. Hoping that will change now that more owner-spec choices are available and PS/B can regain a little uniqueness on an S. I think DS/B & DS/W are now on track to take the "overused" title.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasnt there an earlier discussion on this forum that BMW's metallic paint might be more durable that non-metallic?

What do you think about the Liquid Yellow Solid Paint?
Is the metallic paint "better" than this color?

No one mentioned Pepper White. It already looks dirty, so you're a step ahead when it's clean.
