12.00 am or pm

Just been looking at the Italian Run thread, ( dreaming, so many memories )

Just want to get a few reaction from around the world about the following,

Rakeys last post was at Midnight.

The time on the post says 12.00am.

Surely 12.00 at night is pm, 00.01 is am

Same as 12.00 mid-day is am and 12.01 is pm

Hey, I was only born in 1971 so unfortunately most of this stuff was apparently worked out before my time. As such, I have just had to accept the "rules" of the world that I was born into, and as such 12 Midnight is 12am

I have a whole list of things I am currently lobbying to change - after I deal with the 12am vs 12pm issue I will be moving onto sorting out that Gravity thing. What's that about

I tend to write it as 12 noon or 12 midnight though to avoid confusion.

Think of the 24 hour clock. 00:00 = 12am = midnight.

12:00 pm = lunch hour

thats right but when i was in the army we did everything by the 24hr clock but we were never allowed to write 00:00 we used to have to write 23:59 or 00:01 could never work that out

I like how midnight in a MINI is 0:00. One of those fun oddities.
