New Options...

Just seen these new options on the MINI USA sight, was wondering if the all knowing Mr Mullet knew any details about it...

...I'm especially intrested in the Piano Black Dashboard...

...and what those funny circles are.

Hi Damo,

Sure Paul will know more but I did a fair bit of research into options before I bought my MCS (this week) including asking MINI uk about forthcoming options (in case I was likely to miss something). I think the Piano Black dash is only Park Lane - notice the circular graphics. The three 'new' colours are: Saturn Red (metallic ruby); Ascot Grey (similar to Park Lane in England; Space Blue which is the Checkmate colour. Like the new wheels that they show and the Panther Black English Leather (again similar to Park Lane but without, I think, the piping edges). Note that they say, " * available on some models." MINI uk told me that no new options were in the pipeline (as of abt 3 weeks ago) but to maintain contact with my dealer. So, whether we get any of these as options on, say, MCS is impossible to say at this time IMO.

Cheers.

Didn't realise there'd ever been a Piano black dash before, even on the Park Lane etc...

Edit:

...just checed MINI.co.uk and the Park Lane has an existing dash

AS for not being available in all models, Id have to order it as an accessory anyway.

yeah I saw the Piano Black dash when I went on the factory tour back in August - it looks quite nice actually . The circles are just coloured circles, to break up the black I guess

Any Idea if they're fixed on, or if they can be removed?

Don't know - I didn't get to see it up close, but they didn't look like badges though. I presumed that they were printed onto the dash somehow?

Didn't go to the dealer in the end, may do it tomorrow...

...just thinking though. The funny circles on the Dash are only applicable to the MINI One Seven, so wouldn't be applicable to any other model...

...so hopefully they won't have those circles on none MINI One Seven versions...

...hopefully it'll be cheaper than having it painted

Seen the dash in the flesh now...

...and I want it...

...but I can't see how those circles will be carried over when this option becomes available from the factory as they wouldn't match the rest of the interior say on an S.

Also liked the Gear box gaiter leather with red stitching
