Offline | Three degrees alarm Did anyone else wonder what that "boing" sound was when their three degrees and below alarm went off for the first time in this cold weather? It gave me quite a surprise (first winter with my MCS). Now I quite like it - a nice feature Will it do that again whenever the temperature falls by a degree or so? I've only heard it a few times.Caz |

Offline | Yeah, not going to be long before I see -20C or lower Hopefully it'll be like last year, and I won't have to see (and sit in a) -30C car.Lowest I've EVER seen in a car was -46C in my Volvo back in 1996, yes, it was cold, no... way TOO cold. The recorded temperature in the city was -40C that night, but I was in some valley and I guess it was a little colder there than the weather station. Sometimes I wonder if the cold weather testing automobile manufacturers do are good enough for the semi arctic weather we have here... I mean, the MINI definitely don't sound as healthy as my Volvo did when starting from cold temperature. |

Offline | If you ever see someone walking outside in a t-shirt when it's -3 it'll be a Canadian. Or someone who is mad. If there is a difference ? When it gets really cold in Canada you can't break the ice it gets as hard as rock. Heated walkways between shopping malls aren't a luxury over there. Perhaps BMW should add to the beep with a klaxon when it is -20? ![]() Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs |

Offline | Never had that yet. I tried to describe the sound because depending on the situation there are various alarms (boot open, lghts on, radio not removed etc.) and this is the same as in an aeroplane - fasten seat belts - "ping "not "boing" (Heard it again tonight) My daughter drives a Clio 182 but doesn't have that - He he then - permanently in competition... More faciities in the MINI!Cazzy |
