Offline | I am not a Happy Bunny! I collected my car from the dealers last night ( after 2 weeks)..it was too dark to inspect the work that they had done cosmetically. It had gone back in for the trim around the top of the windscreen to be fixed as it was popping out and also for the screen to be resealed... anyway, I now have a small chip in the glass that wasn't there 2 weeks ago and it didn't happen on the way home because A. I would have heard it and B. I live less than quarter of a mile away from the dealers. Also the trim at the bottom of the screen isn't very well done see pic and also where the screen has had tape over it ( that white tape is it called masking tape?)..it has now left reminents of tape over the roof..see pic. So back down Monday for a massive strop...I'm gunning for compensation now I have had enough messing about from these Idjeets..and if they don't I'm getting a legal advice ![]() Rant over, thanks for listening ![]() I'm being tempted back to a MINI.... |

Offline | Awwwwww nooooooooo I was reading your last update earlier and was glad it was sorted but now it's not again It's so annoying when they can't get things right There's no excuse for bit's of tape residue being left on the roof or the seal left like that, the muppets must be blind Good luck for Monday Tracie ps, if they don't get it perfect for you, threaten them with this ![]() |

Offline | It's the never-ending story, part 234780432789256793. Dear me. No doubt the dealer will plead ignorance to the chip in the windscreen and say it's impossible to say when it occurred (however, depending on your insurer, your policy may provide free windscreen repairs - mine (Direct Line) does so). As for the mess on the roof, insist on nothing less than a full valet, inside and out. Go in and speak to the service manager her/himself (I've done this on two occasions - once when waiting for my car to be returned after an accident (they were *really* slow) and on another time when they managed to break (yes, really) my dashboard when fixing rattles - they had to replace it under warranty). Don't speak to one of the drones on the service desk, head straight to the top. Tell the manager that the service you received was appalling and the work done was not of satisfactory quality. Tell him/her you know your rights as a consumer and you want to give the dealership one last chance before getting legal advice. If all else fails, wait until the dealership is really busy and start screaming and shouting and make a proper little scene. That should provide sufficient embarrassment for them to pull their fingers out. |

Offline | They do *not* want to plead ignorance to the chip..that was a new screen they put in after the accident and it was spotless before they had it...there's also the matter of items that the Repair Centre had charged the Insurance Company for that still has to be sorted out..lots of lttle items for example Mud Flaps that were charged for..My car has never had Mudflaps on in its entire little life ...thats Fraud!Watch this space folks..I'll update Monday ![]() I'm being tempted back to a MINI.... |

Offline | If its any consolation I had excatly the same problem with our first Cooper where the rubber seal kept popping out. I was told that the windscreen had been set approx. 3mm too low at the factory and the consequence was that the gap between screen and roofline was too big to grip rubber. Anyway, car went in, job done, went to pick up on a nice sunny day by chance, got in car to drive away and to my horror found scratches right down the middle of the screen. I got back out, called the service manager to come and have a look and he admitted straight away that it was their fault ( the lads in the garage had just laid the screen on the concrete floor when they took it out) and ordered a new screen and had that fitted within 3 days. My advice is, dont give in too them. They may be trained on the highly technical aspects of a computerised car, but when it comes to common sense......like laying the screen on something soft.................uuummmmm !! Good luck anyway, Tracie. Dark Silver/Black MCS (Carlisle) - Now Stopped Drooling..............Now sitting in Lloyds MINI very cherished dept!! Minnie Mouse is all that is left....... |

Offline | Is it the local mickey mouse dealership? I think its time to get Mini HQ down there...it seems unless you wring their necks you get a shoddy job first few times until they do it properley. Took 5 visits for my missus to get something simple changed, and i still havent got mine sorted yet (just waiting for the rattle count to settle now) If its not who i think it is then i guess it seems theres an epidemic of 1/2 baked jobs in deepest darkest. Thing is, there are people there who actually give a monkeys and do spend the time on things as they are deserved...but then there are those that keep blaming it on not enough staff etc...if they did the job properly then i guess they wouldnt need to keep doing things 3x and could get on with some paying work! |

Offline | I feel very disappointed for you Tracie . It really isn't to much to expect a job to be done right first time is it. And yet here you are going back for a second time to get the work done, and it still isn't right. Read them the riot act and i hope it all gets sorted out to your satisfation. |

Offline | yep...when i've got mine sorted i think a stiff letter to Mini is in order...i've already had a courtesy call from mini about my experience of buying a new car, but the telesales canvasser didnt seem that fussed about things and just offered a verbal apology and tried to get off the phone as fast as possible. I hope it was a telesales canvasser, because if it was actually a mini customer service rep then it was a pretty cold call. Hope you get it sorted, my sympathies with the hassle i know you must be going through. |

Offline | Well, result!....they never evan quibbled over the windscreen... Went up there this morning and showed the service manager... Exibit A Screwed up ball of masking tape left in door compartment. Exibit B Marks left on Dashboard Exibit C Masking tape on Roof Exibit D Chip in windscreen. Exibit E Copy of Invoice Jesty's sent Insurance company with added extras. He was very nice and said that they will do the windscreen whenever I want, so it was agreed that it would be done on the service as I really don't want to be without my car anymore this side of Xmas ![]() While we waited ( enjoying a lovely cappacinno)..car was cleaned up. The service manager is also going to speak to Mini about some sort of compensation that he agrees should be due to me now because of Jesty's bad workmanship..I'll keep you posted on that as I have a few Aces up my sleeve should I not get the result I'm hoping to get and I won't mention yet on this forum until its resolved ![]() So I'm happy again ![]() I'm being tempted back to a MINI.... |
