Offline | rear ended A13 towards North Circular coming from work at Canary Wharf, cigarette and some chilled out music. Traffic is looking rather miserable but i don't care, i am in my baby, i have plenty of fags and my latest favorite cd is playing. So what could go wrong?? Well I'll tell you, a nice young lady in a VW Polo who only too late realized that the few hundred cars in front of her were stationary. Like the song says "clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right here i am stuck in the middle with you", well the rest is history, my baby did its job and kept me safe, also surprisingly little damage for the strength of the collision. Having my baby booked in tomorrow and will try and get a pic. The feeling of helplessness looking at the rear view mirror and not being able to do anything about it is something indescribable. So just thought I'd let you guys know how a reasonably s**ty day can get S**tier. Merry Xmas everyone |

Offline | If you are bumper to bumper in traffic and have to suddenly stop from quite a high speed shouldnt you put your hazards on to warn people behind you incase they are blind, or cant judge speed. Sorry bout your car |

Offline | Many thanks everyone for your thoughts, I did not stop suddenly, and that is the slightly annoying thing 3 lanes of traffic were stationary and the lines of traffic to my left and my right had already gone way behind me. This lady basically drove through the middle of two lanes of stationary traffic until she met my rear end. She was very apologetic and offered all the details, however she had not yet reported the accident to her insurers yesterday. I took my baby to HR OWEN Holland Park yesterday who put me in touch with this company called accident Exchange, this morning a very nice gentleman turned out at my house with a brand spanking new Mini and took mine away. (Oh my gosh!!!! could BMW finally be providing a good efficient service to Mini owners???? I will keep you all posted) Once again my thanks to all of you for being there and knowing the pain I am going through seeing my baby damaged, everyone else says "it's just a car!!" you all know what i mean. I'll keep you all updated. |
