| MINI2 Regular | Just called MiniUSA and get this one! My vin# is showing up on the WW website as received at terminal on 7/06/2002 and I missed the Travita. My vin is now showing up on the Jingo Maru to leave sometime next week I think. Anyway-called miniusa and the guy told me my car was just recieved yesterday in Germany and is shipping from there! He told me "built in England then shipped to Germany" and according to my production # it arrived yesterday. I said "so my car is not in Southampton" and he said no. What the f%&# is going on?!?!? I'm and really getting annoyed with this run-around bull-c#$% Winnie "the Mini" Cooper "nothing to fear-nothing to doubt"-radiohead |

Offline | Deja vu? Again? Didn't we discuss this bogus trip to Germany (?!) before? ![]() http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=10212 And MINIUSA is still telling you the same thing? My recommendation is to call MINIUSA (again) and ask to speak directly to Wayne Kung. I'm sure you will get the truth from him. My understanding remains that MINIs are built in Oxford, shipped by a special rail connection directly to Southampton, are then placed aboard WW ships bound for one of three VPCs in the US (there are 2 on the east coast, one on the west coast). Germany doesn't enter into it at all. + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

| MINI2 Regular | OK-called back and talked to John and he gave me the run-down. Yes-we are in Southampton. I told him the dude 10 mins. before said Germany and he said the guy didn't know what he was talking about. He's a BMW rep that forgets the minis are built in Britian blah blah blah. He was very helpful. The other issue is WW says I was received at the terminal 7/6/02 but John said I was there yesterday (the 8th). Ugh-they need to get there stories straight. If BMW is trying to lure new customers they aren't doing a very good job! All I want is my car... Winnie "the Mini" Cooper "nothing to fear-nothing to doubt"-radiohead |

Offline | Re: Germany? What the #@%& is going on! You have lots of company - don't worry! I arrived at the port on 5 July at 1:05pm. Didn't get on the Travita either - I assume other cars were in line before me. Now, I am scheduled to get loaded on the TAKASAGO which is set for departure 13 July with arrival at the port of NYC on 21 July. | heterochromic & loving it | Re: Re: Germany? What the #@%& is going on! Welcome to purgatory. Oops, I mean welcome to Southampton. Cars that arrived after yours made it onto the Traviata, including cars that arrived in port on July 6th. Isn't that keen? According to Wallenius, contruction and lot resurfacing has disrupted their normal first in first out policy, so the seemingly logical line of thought "my car will be shipped before cars that arrived after it and after cars that arrived before it" doesn't apply at the moment... -Ricardo |

| heterochromic & loving it | They were wrong. They've had some folks from BMW customer service helping answer the phones for MINIUSA, and apparently they don't know any better. Your MINI will be put on a train from Oxford UK to Southampton UK, and in Southampton it will be loaded on a ship headed to the U.S. Your MINI will never go to Germany unless you take it there yourself... -Ricardo |

Offline | Re: Re: Re: Germany? What the #@%& is going on! Yeah, heard about that situation on another thread. Wonderful! At least my boat is faster than the others - takes just 7 days for the voyage. It takes Traviata 8 days and Jingu Maru 8 days. That's the only good thing... I guess... I am grabbing at straw's here...
