Thus it is, has always been, and always will be. Many drivers, even MINI drivers, just don't pay attention to other cars and don't get the MINI community thing. After 3 years and 3 months of flashing and waving, I've decided not to let them bring me down and just keep flashing and waving in my low-key way. I'm sure I have a bit of a local reputation now as "the goofy guy with the black and white MINI who waves and flashes". At least they know I'm enthusiastic about my car..... MINImeat B/W MCS

I flash less in the winter months (hmm, wonders himself where this is going...) as it's dark most of the time I am on the road, so is more annoying than friendly. I tend to leave my flashing for the daylight hours.

I think it's just because there are two sorts of people who buy a MINI; people who buy them just to get around in as an alternative to any other car, and then people like ourselves, who love them and couldn't imagine having any other car. It's really a question of luck as to who you meet!

| I agree....this coming from that true center of the galaxy, Arlington Texas . A few of the early owner who I have seen again and again do wave, but for the most part it's died off a lot. I do what MINImeat suggests, continuing to wave, but in a more subdued way (no more head and both arms out the window). If I do see the other motorer's face brighten, though, then it's game on!!! | Not too many waves here also, I think that is because you don't see that many Minis. I drove from Florida to Texas and back, a total of 2500 miles and only saw 1 other Mini. The few Minis I see in my home town of Lake Mary are getting used to me flashing and waving, so there is hope yet. |

I've noticed that waves come in waves--that is, I'll get all waves and flashes for a few days, and then none at all for awhile. Of course, there are fewer MINIs here then in the UK--the most I'll see in a day is 2-3, sometimes I'll go for several days and not see any (maybe that has something to do with the peaks and troughs). I have noticed that there seems to be more waving on weekends then on morning commutes....

You're all right - nobody waves. cheshire is riddled with minis, apparently more than alot of other places so it makes it tricky but I pass a dude every morning (with all respect he look like he could have had a classic mini) and he waves - I really enjoy going past him knowing that he appreciates my affinity for mini culture!! I have an idea.....YOu may see a new post in a minute!
