Question Fire Extinguisher

Hoy Folks,

Sorry for the (Flemish) ENGLISH, I try to do my best.

In Belgium you must have a 1Kg. Fire Extinguisher on board of a driving car.
Is it also in your country ??

My BMW-dealer told me that he has not find the right place to attach the FE !!!

Any suggestions?? With pictures please, if it is possible.
They are all welcome??

I am also looking for PICS:
MINI COOPER S,
Chili Red,
White Roof,
Tinted Windows (Medium),
Aero Kit,
S-Spoke 17”,
Like this 1, I have ordered 1 in may 2002, arriving by my BMWdealer last week of august,
I HOPE .

PS How can I made, from here in Belgium, a donation for “SUPERB SITE” of MINI2 ??
It is not very clear for me???

Thanks in advance, M.J.J.

20 000 km and still IN LOVE

The answer is no you don't need a fire extinguisher in the U.K although I have one in my boot/hatch/trunk

To make a donation you can follow the information from here

We screw ours to the floor next to the sill on the passenger side of the car

We are not required to carry a fire extinguisher here in the States either, although it is a good idea.

Snow creates a chemical imbalance in most peoples brains that makes them forget how to drive.

I saved a guy's car on the way to work...

one morning a few years back. Car fire of unknown origin under driver's side. Got it out with a small halon extinguisher I kept in a bracket on the passenger side of my Rabbit GTi.

No sooner than I get it out guy asks me, "Think I can still drive it?"

Told him, "You can, I wouldn't" Left before I could see him do something stupid.

I had one across the under passenger seat, so it crossed the passenger footwell, below where the front passenger would have their legs.

I am afriad its not in the car yet. (the pic was taken in my front room.)

I will be fitting it in the passenger footwell, and attaching it to the dash. Just need to make a bracket (and get my mate to chrome it afterwards )

Ive just replaced my 600g Extinguisher which was errr.. good at cooling down the Cigar Lighter for a slightly uprated Gauged 1Kg Dry Powder Unit.
I had to move the tool kit into the drivers side rear cubby hole & decided to pack the space around it with sponges to prevent rattles.
The 1Kg unit then rests nicely in the kits place, & its mount is secured via 2 screws through the trim & inner body.
Ok, So it wont put out a Portugese Forest, But Bring on a Smouldering Sheet of A4 & I`ll show you a Snowstorm.
(& you got to admit ... It Looks Good)
