towing MINI on a flat bed?

Hey everyone! I have a '03 Cooper S and live in Los Angeles. I'm making the move to NYC and wanted to rent a flatbed trailer. I talked to some rental places and said they have no flatbed or trailers for out MINI. ANYBODY have any suggestions?

I would seriously consider driving it. Towing long distances is a pain, slow, tow vehicle consumes lots of fuel, parking issues when you stop, etc. The MINI is not a bad long distance car, I've done longs trips; and you can fly cheap on Southwest or Jet Blue back to make another trip with rest of your stuff if you have to. Another thought is to get a POD container, pack it up with your stuff, let them deliver it to you in NYC, while you drive your MINI, that way only one trip. No dealing with movers, you do the loading and unloading yourself.

I have a feeling that the problem is that no rental place lists the MINI, rather than they have no trailer that will work. Measure the distance between the wheels, and then visit uhaul to measure the trailer.

If it fits, pick a car that they do list, tell them that is what you have, pick up the trailer, load your MINI and be on your way! It is not as tho they load your car for you.

Or, buy a trailer, make the trip, and sell it on Ebay when you get to NY.

I made the move San Diego to Seattle with a car in tow on a trailer. Slow, but less work than making the trip twice.

Good luck.
