| M5 Extraordinare! | Hahaha who knows... all I know is I aint donating a penny till they start taxing SUVs with Gas Guzzler Tax or get rid of SUVs or restrict it to only proper use (*which will be hard*)... so best thing to do is apply GGT to SUVs and not just cars. |

Offline | Surely the easiest things would be to get you Septics to pay a proper price for your gas? That way the people who drive big gas guzzling suvs have to pay a fortune for the gas that goes in and so will buy smaller cars like MINIs. I only rarely use my old Mustang due to the fuel prices in the UK. That said my parent's live in the Middle-East and it is great fun driving around in their 6 litre engined American SUV ... Offline | haha who cares!! i saw a thing once that showed the amount of pollution a typical person would give out driving (50yrs) in their lifetime is still less than one ship sailing from China, a flight from Australia or even one Formula one race ![]() strange but all the figures were very similar! ![]() |

| Ashes and dust Maximus! | actually i agree, i think the bigger and more inefficient the car, the more it should be taxed. there is no actual NEED to have a car that uses that much petrol to get from A to B. who actually needs a 5litre monster for practical purposes? if it's for leisure, then i do think people should be prepared to pay for it |

| knowing me, knowing you | bit like this thread really ![]() http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...=carbon+offset evey bit helps, but something interesting is to make sure that where you are offsetting your emissions is not one of the major producing countries, such as your home country be it the UK or the USA as your payment and contribution goes towards the Governments requirments, so then stops them from doing so much ![]() Its only a forum you know! ![]() |
