Offline | Rear boot lid Does anyone know were i can get a chilli red boot lid like the ones standard on the cooper s? apart from buying a whole new boot lid etc from BMW, that i can stick on top of my current black one. I dont want the whole part just one to stick on top. Does anyone know where i can buy one, as its needed asap, as i am having decals fitted. Thank you for your time. Vikki ![]() |

| "Buying and selling" | Unless you find a breakers or someone is selling one from an S after buying a chrome one you are going to find it hard to get one fast unfortunately. If you buy from the dealers its at least 4 weeks on a painted part. You could buy a primed one from the dealers and get it sprayed by a bodyshop or even the dealer might be able to spray it. Primed parts come in 3days i think! I did this for myself as i cudnt find an indi blue one anywhere. Other than that bribe a cooper s owner with a straight swap for a chrome one, you never know they mite be interested. Or Ebay! 2001 cooper (sold) ![]() 1995 Supra RZ-S TT auto in white. |

| "Buying and selling" | Well i did it myself, there is a kit you can buy from the dealers, it costs about a tenner and consists of Chilli red spray can and lacquer spray, about 250ml of each. I also bought a primed boot handle cost about 35GBP. Just follow the instruction on the can, i also have some links to spraying i think if you want them. Failing that ask the dealer if they can spray it, shud be easy for them but they probably charge you at least 50 for it! 2001 cooper (sold) ![]() 1995 Supra RZ-S TT auto in white. |

Offline | yes yours looks perfect, if you have the link that would be great thank you. Oh right ill ask my stealers about the paint, doubt they will know what i mean as they are useless but its worth a try. Would it paint over a chrome effect boot lid, if i rubbed it down? |

| "Buying and selling" | http://www.polo-gt.co.uk/styling/colour-coding.html Thats link for general colour coding. It is possible to rub down a chrome one but you'd have to buy primer and re-spray it with that. Its not worth the hassle really if you are doing it yourself as the primered surface has to be spot on smooth as silk to get a good finished article. Best thing to do is buy the primed version straight from the dealer, that will give you the best chance of getting it right first time. If your at the dealers enquire about a ready painted chili red one tho as you never know they might have one in stock or be able to get one quicker than 4 weeks. 2001 cooper (sold) ![]() 1995 Supra RZ-S TT auto in white. |
