So where does Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines get the inspiration for naming its ships?
Sometimes from classic inspiration such as Shakespeare perhaps, for the Falstaff?
But I think I know the reason for naming one of their ships:
TAKASAGO = Take a S and go!!
+ 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather
+ 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed
The inspiration for many of the ships is opera. Falstaff, Traviata, Aida, Faust, Boheme, Don Carlos, Don Juan, Don Pasquale, Elektra, Fidelio, Figaro, Isolde, Madame Butterfly, Manon, Otello, Rigoletto, Titus, Tristan, Turandot are all operas among the list of ships you can view on their website. Many operas are based on Shakespeare, hence the crossover. But they seem to have a thing for opera. Now, if the fat lady would just sing, perhaps I'd be able to drive home in my silk green MINI, which just arrived in the NYC port aboard the Traviata.
Since only 1/2 as many MINIs made it onto the Takasago as were supposed to, does that mean that the city in Japan is half occupied and that meals are left half finished?
Bitter due to missing the Takasago (whoever is 1 VIN in front of me made it on however)...
