34 mpg

Only had my Mini a couple of weeks and just had to fill up. Took £36.00 to totally fill him up. By my calculations im getting 34mpg which isnt too bad i suppose all things considered. Anyone else in a Cooper doing any better ??

Same here but i suspect the 17 inch wheels dont help. Neither will my heavy right foot either.

its not the size that matters its what you do with it try optimax i get better mpg out of it and a few bhp more and give the ecu about 400 miles to adjust to your driving style and that car will feel better

MCC.... Always in the past fueled on Optimax/Ultimate, but have recently been using Tesco 99RON.

Best average on a tank = 32mpg (motorways all day)
Worst average = 16mpg (trackday and the drive there and back)

I can get around 410 miles out of a tank if I'm careful, filling up with around 5 litres remaining in the bottom. That works out at (consults calculator) around 40-41mpg. When I first got my Cooper (2002), I was only getting around 330 miles.

My average MPG for 2004: 23.87
2005: 24.02
so far 2006: 24.14

I guess you could say it is improving very slightly

My usual range is only 250-300mi.
34mpg is unheard of, I've never even seen 30!

Part lane, part A road, part town, 38mpg

Motorway journey, 70 mph cruise (yawn) in still air, 41-42mpg

Tigger.

my daily commute is 140 miles roundtrip with 95% on the freeway @ 75+mph in the San Francisco Bay Area. That coupled with minimal weekend driving, except for three autcross runs every two weeks I have been averaging 32-34 mpg. runflats at the proper pressure and oil changes at every 5000 miles helps to keep the fuel economy up. If I wait the full 15,000 miles between changes the mpg goes down 2-3 mpg. Oh and 91 octane from Chevron is the only thing "HOPKIRK" ever sees
