Car Valuation

I was wondering if any of you kind people could help me value my car. I am taking it in this week and the dealer will put a price on it, and depending on this it maybe forsale.

This is not a for sale advert btw just after some needed advice

The car is as follows....

MINI Cooper
2003 53 reg
Indi Blue
Chili Pack
Air Con
MFSW
ASC+T
CD player
BOOST
Cooper S perforated leather steering wheel with thumb grips
17" Bullet alloys with pleanty of tread left on them.
Alarm
TLC
K&N 57i
Superchipped
41,000 miles

Car is in good nic but has a slight scuff on the bumper (barely noticeable now) and a couple of minor scratches but no more than usual. Interior is mint.

Just had it second service.

I am hoping it is worth around £10,000 private (others on AutoTrader seem similarly priced but not sure if these actually sell at this price) and £9000 trade in.

However I am aware dealer wont want the K&N on the car so wont mention that to them at this stage and will take it off if selling.

As previously said if they value around what I hope I may be selling but at this stage I would grateful if anyone could help me with a price so I can comeback to the dealer when he offers me a stupidly low price!

cheers in advance

How much did you pay for the car when purchased new. This allows for a better rough guide due to prices changing on the extras etc.

Don't know whether it helps but this weekend I got £8.5k from a dealer for my 2003 One with 22,000 miles.

They were happy to take my car with my all my mods, including the zorst!

Hi there

Glasses guide on the net, cost's £2.50 and let's you know below average, average and good valuations.

All you have to do is fill in what options you have and they will give you a quote to print off to haggle with the dealership.

It helped me no end!

Hope this helps

Chris

Your price seems in reason with the 33% 3 year average mileage excellent condition so I dont see why not.

I paid £10k in a private sale for my Cooper in August 2005, June 2003 build, 14k miles, similar spec to yours but Liquid Yellow, no ASC+T, no MFSW and 16" 5-star alloys. Standard tune and filter.

I tried to get a BMW Dealer to take my 1999 323 convertible with full BMWSH etc etc ect in part ex for a MINI. They totally ignored Glasses and Parkers prices amd offered me an insulting low amount £3,000 under those books reccomendations!!. It was blatantly obvious they didnt want a part/ex. They are just interested in selling metal. Im selling convertible privately.

I got quoted a value of £8000 a month ago for my October '02 Cooper with 24K miles on the clock (Pepper pack/ASC+T/PDC/CD/air con/metallic). Apparently (according to the MINI guy the (VW) garage spoke to) MINIs such as mine are losing £200 per month. This actually compares quite favourably with the valuations in Parkers (which are supposed to be pretty optimistic anyway).
