Still trying to spec my new mini, im going mad! , sport suspension plus comes free with a chilli pack, does anybody have this and does it make the ride too hard?
Think i will go mad if i look at another mini brochure.
I'd say go for it, I've had it on all my MINIs, and it's worth it. I've driven many without (one regularly) and it's not quite the same. In my opinion of course.
depends on how comfortable you want your ride to be. I know someone who sold their mini with sports suspension because it was too harsh a ride.
I personally couldnt live with out it......
well worth it, helps with the whole feel of fun you get from having a mini
Are you after a One, Cooper or an S? Personally I think sport suspension plus on my Cooper is just great. I think the wheel size has a greater effect on smoothness of ride. Try to get a test drive with and without SS
damn you guys are fast.
just dont know if i should get a pepper pack to save some money to get the harman kardon system, just so lost at the moment, want all the things i can afford!!
Sports suspension plus is great! The ride is a tad harsh at low speeds, but above 40mph it makes up for it by smoothing out the road! Add on the fact that it really improves the way the car handles, especially in bends and does look like its a little lower (my 16" 5 spokes look much bigger in the wheel arches than they have any right to! !), then I'd say its a must!
Having the chilli pack gives you a lot of other nice touches, plus it upsizes the alloys from 15 to 16", not a massive size difference, but it does look better!
As for HK, if you can I'd recommend it, I have it and its brilliant!
That's odd. The 17's with their smaller side walls and wider tread tend to make for a harsher ride, as does the SS+, so together they usually make it harsher overall than either 16" with SS+ or 17" without.
Could be model year differences in your case (or even spec of the cars/weight) as they changed the settings to soften things up in general in the past.
