Offline | Any Western Pennsylvania MINI owners here? I'm the only one I've ever seen in Pittsburgh. I ran a search of the forums and the 'Burgh has hardly been mentioned! *feels very alone* BRG/black top CVT with nav system named Winnie. I'm a GUY! Wave if you see me in the North Hills of Pittsburgh! |

| MINI2 Regular | Not an owner yet, but I know there are a few of you around--MINIs seem to be flying out of P&W. I've seen a number of people on test drives, plus a few in the wild: pure silver with black, black with white, red with black, and (I think) pure silver with white. But as I say, some of the others I've seen at P&W aren't there anymore, so obviously someone's buying them. Which one's yours? Did you get up to the Vintage Grand Prix display in Squirrel Hill last night? They had a new S parked next to an old-school Mini, and both were getting a significant amount of attention from people who knew what they were. |

Offline | Hey, right, I should head over to the Grand Prix to see if there are any others! I certainly haven't seen any others around town. Mine's dark green with a black top and mirrors. From what I've heard, most of the MINIs being sold out of Baum Boulevard are being smuggled off to Ohio! I bet the only place they are seen regularly are during test drives around Oakland/Pitt campus. Hmm, Western NY is a bit far, I'll check it out tho... BRG/black top CVT with nav system named Winnie. Offline | LOL, actually the name came from a family joke; I'm 1st generation American (hence the yearning for a Mini), mum and dad got married and moved to the U.S. in 1962. My dad for years has maintained that we are distantly related to Winston Churchill, and Cousin Winston is a running joke. So, first it was Cousin Winston, but the female voice just made that name seem wrong, and hence, Winnie! Just seemed perfect! BRG/black top CVT with nav system named Winnie. I'm a GUY! Offline | Live in Dormont We should be getting our Cooper at the end of the summer/beginning of fall. In the meantime I'm making occasional trips to P&W to keep up. I heard somewhere that P&W is gathering owners to have the cars up at the Grand Prix this weekend? Know anything about it? I've seen a BRG mini tooling its way westbound on I-376 twice in the evening about a month ago (vicinity of Squirrel Hill exit). Could that have been you? I also occasionally see a black/white cooper downtown, I think he may park in the PPG garage. Otherwise, mostly I just see the car parked at Exoticars on West Liberty several times a week. Tough seeing a MINI which nearly matches your spec just sitting there and not being enjoyed by anyone! What part of town do you live in? In the garage and ready to go! Offline | My Cooper S, dark silver/black, is scheduled to be delivered to New York 8/02. I'm hoping to get it 3rd week of August. BTW Mini of Pgh was SO unhelpful when I called them that I ended up buying mine @ Mini of Towson, MD. |
