im worried the mini is a girls car?

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of buying a mini cooper having just sold my sports car, and am i worried that the car is percieved as a girls car. I have been taking notice of who drives around in these cars over the last week and the majority seem to be women. Do as many men drive the car as women? and do only men in their 20's drive them? I'm 35 although look a little younger (hopefully)

Cheers

hi there! i had similar thoughts, but luckily i'm 21 so i fit into the younger male category! but in general i've come to realise it really isn't a girl's car, especially if the colours you choose etc really reflect your personality. plus there's also the other reason: who cares what other people think?!

Got to admit the majority of MINI's I see are driven my women, and most of them are S's to...

...it lulls people into a fall sense of security, as people don't realise how quick these little "girls" cars are

And no theyr're not girls cars But its nice to proove the people who think this wrong

There are very populer with males under 20 but all males can drive them my dad loved driving my brothers and on my way to school i see at lest 2 males over the age of 50 driving them.

There not a girls car there unisex like most cars

if you got a yellow one people might think your strange ( no affence to males with yellow minis) but nope not girls car any one any age can have one

also the way you drive it can give ppl a real idea of what sort of car it is....when they hear my car backfiring on the overrun in first gear you can literally feel ppl's suprise as they look at you

Madz, another thing to remember, besides the Mini being a fantastic car, you have another reason for getting one. There is an overwhelming compulsion by New Mini drivers to wave at each other. If there is a high percentage of female ownership then what better way to get to know the female owners than having a shared passion? GET IN THERE!

if you go to any meets or runs you will find that 90% of the population attending are male!! this was definately true at Mini United as apart from myself at our hotel that had been dedicated to the mini weekend i was the only british female mini driver there. All the other women had come with their other halves. i don't think colour makes that much of a difference either as long as you don't go for that bubble gum two tone pink/purple they bought out last year!!

i know men with yellow minis with black graphics on, red minis with white graphics on, pure black minis (some with white on), hyper blue........ the list goes on. if you can afford some JCW that always gives the car a bit of male ompf.

to sum it up, if anything i would consider that i am driving a male car and my Coopey is definately male!!

hope that helps.......

What Model are you after?

This is just my opinion:

If its a Cooper or an S, get the Chili pack

Avoid S Spokes if you can, VERY Heavy but look mint.

Xenons are awesome!

what are you looking for in a car? if you were bothered about whether it is a "girl's car" what is more important to you?
the mini is a fantastic car. if you want power and speed and poke then go for the cooper s or s works. if you want a more fuel efficient car which isn't as powerful but probably still a great drive then go for the cooper.
minis are wonderful cars to drive.
i've got an s works and it goes like **** off a shovel but also cruises beautifully when you don't want to speed around. it takes corners like no other car i've ever driven.
one thing which might be a nice addition internally, is the harmon kardan. it's a great sound system.add the i pod interface, icelink, from mikeythemini and you'll enjoy it even more.
may be an idea to dispense with run flats. they can be a pain.
i'd get auto air conditioning as well, but that's cos i prefer it to manual air conditioning for getting heat in quicker.
i've driven lots of cars and driven for a living and the works is the best thing in the world.
it's not a girl's car...it's a car for someone who loves a good drive
simple

A guy at school said the MINI is a girlcar when he saw my car (ofcourse he said in Dutch); he was just jealous. What did he drove at that moment and still drive: a awful old Seat Ibiza. By the way he has never money when we 're in the pub.

A notice: the MINI is a eyecatcher and a babemagnet.

Who cares and yeah whatever - thats the best attitude, just enjoy whether you are male, female, or A sexual lol
