Just needed to share the pain with some fellow mini people...

I spent the weekend at my parents place (nice little rural village, never any trouble) and to my shock and utter disbelief, I cam out on Saturday morning to find two lines of size 9 footprints over the bonnet and roof of my mini! Words cannot describe my rage. Not only is there some lovely scratches but there are also four/five dents in the roof. According to mini approved bodyshop it sounds like a new roof and a £1500 - £2K repair bill which seems to be confirmed by some of the other threads I have looked at.

Suggestions please (both for other repair options and what I should do to the little dears if I ever find them!)

OMG!

That is bloody disgraceful. Makes u want to find the idiots and put your own size shoe where is doesn't belong. I feel your pain, hope it gets fixed with little expense and little heartache too.

the roof is part of the bodyshell so if thats being replaced, it will be a new mold welded onto it..... im suprised the bonnet hasnt dinted aswell....

Sorry to hear about your agro, bleedin' idiots got no respect for other property.
I have had Merlin fixed and I am now going to change him as I'm so fed up with the morons who view the S on the back as a challenge or a canvas for their 'art'.

There now seems to be an outburst of jealousy concerning our type of cars. Im so sorry, and feel for you. The people on the BMW forums (I have an M-Tech convertible) are seeing an increase in this idiotic vandalism. Have you informed the local police? They may well have an idea of the local villains.

What a horrible thing to happen! Some peoples idea of fun is just really disgraceful, I'd be so devastated if this was me. I hope it isn't to much of an ordeal for you to get it back to how it was before

what is wrong with people today, is it they are no hoper's and just want to spread the misery around,
I am not that far off retirement and am making no plans to live it out in UK because of the way its going. If they don't steal your road angel your i pod or sat nav its a run over your roof and a Irish jig, oh I had a brick thrown thro my rear window recently on my pickup, nothing taken as behind a 15 foot fence but a bit of fun! laugh I thought I would never stop

..everything you can to get that *******, ask around if someone saw it happen and do not give up. I am sorry for you and this only confirms you have to think about where you park your car because people are in no doubt jealous about our cars ( I have noticed that on many occasions but nothing big has happened yet). Think of the joy you will get if you catch that ******* so do not give up that easy trying to find out who did it.

My friend bought his first house years ago in a terraced street. Parking was nose to tail on both sides of the street. When it came to Saturday nights, you would get the local yobs walking from one car to another.
