DIY Security Please!!!!

Does anyone know of a steering lock or other securing device that fits over the steering wheel without setting the horn off or nipping the leather on the wheel???
The steering wheel is a 3 Spoke Sports Leather with no multi-function.

Cheers Ash and Andy.

these things are totally pointless, a thief that wants to steal your car can and will get these off, they are no real stopping measure, just more like something that you will have rattling around on the back seat and get sick of putting on time and time again

why not take a look at some of the great security things that you can get from Mikey on www.newministuff.com

You'd be surprised how cheap real peace of mind can be compared to some of the other mods that people spend money on

Rakeys right, as much as a steering lock will put off a opportunist, they wont put off a pro, and generally a Mini will be stolen to order by a pro who can disable the immobiliser...

There was a time when i used a disklok, but that was on my old Nova SR, which any passing granny could break into ....

Check here for reviews on steering wheel locks:

(even if it is crappy Auto Express)

I used a disklok on my MINI because it was parked up on the drive for long periods. And I kept the keys seperate from the MINI keys.

I had a steer wheel immobiliser for another car, and whether or not they work, i can't say, but one of the nice things was that a lot of them come with warranties to pay for a new car if it's on when your car is stolen. so whatever you get, check that it comes with whatever the local equivalent of such warranty would be

No Mini has ever been driven away without the KEYS being lost or stolen, so losing the Mini is not a problem.
The alarm may be an idea for movement inside the car to prevent stereo/CD theft, but the number one target at the present time is portable Sat Nav systems so BEWARE.

Don't have a MINI anymore. Well I do in a way - I have shares in my sisters two MINIs. Got fed up with my ***** dealer, got a company car and got kids.
