Help needed! What is the right price for a 2nd hand MCS?
I've been looking to buy a Cooper S for a few weeks now, and am finding it difficult trying to gauge what is an appropriate price for each car as the differing options seem to really alter the value of the car.
As a minimum I want it to have Dark Silver bodywork with black roof, chilli pack, black interior, panaramic sunroof.
My feeling is that an 03 plate with average miles (say 25k) should be around £11-11.5k. Does this seem right?
I've now been tempted by an 03 plate with everything I want PLUS full leather heated seats, climate, Harmon Kardon radio boost/cd and West Tuning 210bhp package. They want £13k, which I'm thinking is probably fair.
I know that colour is very subjective but it does seem that the Dark Silver commands a better price 2nd hand, especially with a black roof.
One other thing, anyone got a view on how much impact the new Mini will have on prices of the current model?
I have also been looking for a cooper s for the last few weeks. Have a mini one at the minute. You seem to be looking for exactly what i am, dark silver, black roof, 17" alloys, approx 03 plate etc. I think the one youve found for 13k seems an ok price.
Although i am only basing my view on what prices i have found over the last month or so.

Dnt know about skdotcom but im not really looking to spend that much, although every time i see a nice MCS thats slightly more expensive my budget seems to get higher!!!haha
My budget started at £10 - 10.5k! Looking in Parkers guide that seemed an appropriate amount to put aside. I've gradually increased my budget as I found I wanted to include more options and prices still seem to be very strong.
Torn between pepper white, black roof or an all black one...
There is one for sale at a dealership near me, all black 04, sunroof, full leather, parking sensors, visibility pack, CHILI pack, darkened rear windows, 8000 miles,
going for 15,200 at dealers, too high??
think i could prob get a newer one privatly but gonna need finance on it, which is why i am looking to get through dealers!
Hmm.... probably not far off being right. Walking in there with cash you could probably get it for £15k, and MINI have some good finance deals at the mo!
The average price that I'm seeing on MINI's in my area are ~$22k (~12.5 GBP).
Do you guys think this is a good buy on a MINI that I'm looking at?

Everything else is stock I believe.
Since it is an 02', the warrenty ends in June. Will this be a problem for me?
I've offered him $16k ($9k GBP) for this car. Do you guys think it's a good buy? And what should I look for since it's in a wintery climate ~3-4months of the year, besides rust?
