A New Noise....

Just had my car back from Elms in Bedford having had its 1st Service, diff oil replaced, window weather seals replaced and central instrument cluster replaced due to inaccurate clock.

Took me a while to notice but the indicator noise has changed from a clicking noise to a more bell like metallic noise.

Anyone else noticed this or is it just my imagination.

One other thing - after having the instruments replaced my mpg reading on the OBC was roughly 15mpg for the 1st 10 miles - is this normal of is it just recalibrating???? Any ideas???

Finally big thanks to Elms for cleaning my car - even better job than the Kosovans / Lithuanians in luton and that is a real compliment!

Battery would have been disconnected during this work resetting any previous MPG measurements. You are seeing the MPG you got for those 10 miles of driving.

As for the click. Well the sounder is inside the instrument cluster AFAIK so it is possible that it has a different sounder fitted.

It was acceptable in the 80's
