Help - Breakdown companies

Hi

Can anyone give me advice on a good breakdown company? I will need it for home start and if out on the road and motorways.

I was looking on AA and RAC and they were charging over £100 for breakcover cover. Does anyone know of anywhere cheaper?

All advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Inga

IMO you get what you pay for, I believe people like green flag still exist, but with them they dont have the crews to do every callout so subcontract some to small garages, I guess what I'm saying is you dont neccesarily know who your getting...

IMO AA is worth it, the times I've used it they have been great, and got there pretty quick... remember AA cover is for you, not the car, so if your in a mates car that packs up you can use your AA membership to get you home....

RAC is better than the AA. The AA have cut numbers of patrols and are now sourcing cheaper parts for fixing cars by the roadside but charging the same for them.

Green flag are excellent or if you or a family member are a civil servant then you can get Brittania rescue. I have used RAC, AA, Green Flag and Britannia and Greenflag/Britannia have been far superior on time to arrival and no quibbles delivery of vehicle and passengers. The AA and RAC were very overpiced and were appaling in terms of service when i used them...Once had to wait 4 hours!

Never waited longer than 1 hour 20 for Brittannia or Greenflag and most times I only waited 30-40 mins. They are far cheaper too!

PS if you by a MINI with intact warrantee or from a BMW dealer then you get at least 12 months roadside assistance for free anyway
